Urban Decay Summer Look: Practice

This is my face chart for my Urban Decay inspired summer look. I have chosen to create a dewy, bronzed skin with contour, a subtle metallic gold smokey eye, back brushed eyebrows and orange lips.

I started by mixing satin primer with Kryolan foundation in 'G177' and 'FS 38' and buffed into skin well to give a slight tanned and dewy skin look. I then contoured my cheeks, nose and forehead with 'OB4' to create a deep contour look. I then lined my upper waterline with a brown MAC eyeliner pencil. Next I primed my eyelids with Urban Decay primer and used the Urban Decay Naked palette, applying 'half baked' across my eyelids and on the inner corners of my eyes, and blended 'smog' into the outer corners. I then applied lots of mascara to the top and bottom lashes. Next I back brushed the eyebrows with a clear mascara to give a more fashion forward look. Finally I applied Revlon matte balm in '245' to the lips.

Here, I applied vasaline over the eyelid to create a more wet look, however I did not like the results as I think it took away from the metallic in the eyeshadow.

I am pleased with the look I have designed and feel it embraces summer well, with the bronzed dewy skin and bright orange lips. When I create this look in my timed assessment, I will layer some orange aqua colour underneath the Revlon matte balm to make the orange colour really pop. I will also make my contour slightly stronger so it shows up on camera better.
